Allround systems in Detail
With over 40 years of experience, AFS systems are among the best-selling corona treatment stations in the world. They guarantee reliable surface modification for printing, laminating, and coating thanks to the highest quality and safety standards. Achieve optimal and uniform pretreatment of your materials for perfect adhesion of inks and adhesives. Rely on the market leader for maximum process reliability and efficiency.
Allround systems from AFS
Today’s packaging consists of highly complex composites made from different materials. They are laminated, metallized, printed, and coated. Customers place extremely high demands on this packaging — and therefore on the material.
It must ensure durability and various barrier properties while maintaining its color appeal over time.
The trend toward using fewer and fewer solvents in adhesives and inks must also be taken into account. All of this places the highest demands on the production process. AFS systems are at the heart of these processes. They ensure adhesion to plastic, paper, or metal surfaces. And thus ensure that the packaged goods remain fresh.
When the pre-products for printing, laminating, and coating are stored, the surface energy gained (corona treatment during the extrusion process) is lost again. This effect, caused by waxes and lubricants in the material, for example, means that another corona treatment must be carried out before the finishing process. This so-called refreshment increases the surface tension of a substrate, or rather refreshes the surface energy level achieved in the initial treatment, thereby improving the wettability and adhesion to the substrate surface.
Individually customizable systems
AFS offers a wide variety of system configurations which, depending on the respective area of application, can be easily integrated into existing and new production lines as standard or customer-specific systems. Both end customers and OEM customers benefit continuously from the high degree of flexibility, expertise, and innovations offered by AFS, and enjoy technical perfection combined with maximum ease of use.

Other features
Ceramic electrodes by AFS
AFS ceramic electrodes have revolutionized the market. Their patented suspension makes them particularly robust and resistant, and electrode breakage is now extremely rare. The swivel holders allow movement in all directions.
Reproducible spray gap — adjustable from the outside
The scale mounted on the outside of the electrode housing allows the set spray gap to be read at any time. The associated adjustment screw enables easy and reproducible adjustment of the spray gap without the need to open the electrode housing.
